Are Disney World’s annual passes going away soon?

Is Disney getting rid of annual passes? That’s actually more of a loaded question than you probably realize. Let’s take a look at how COVID-19 originally affected the annual passes, what’s been happening since then, and what we can expect in the future. Then, we’ll go over some of the ways that our Disney VIP tour guides can help visitors whether they’re interested in an annual pass or not.

The Effect of COVID-19 on Annual Passes

As everyone is surely aware, Disney World and all other theme parks were forced to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This was one of the first major indicators that we were dealing with something out of the norm. Due to the closure, Disney World suspended sales of their annual passes, even though it didn’t automatically end the program. Many annual passholders, however, cancelled their existing passes and requested refunds because a restart date couldn’t be given.

The Ups and Downs Since the Stoppage

Since the annual passes were stopped, we’ve been seeing a lot of ups and downs in the way they’ve been handled. When the park reopened, new annual passes still weren’t able to be purchased, but Disney did allow renewals along with new purchases for previous annual passholders who had cancelled during the pandemic closure.

Instead of being provided with a blanket guideline, many of these requests were conducted on a case-by-case basis through the Guest Services “Welcome Center,” where park employees were given a ton of leeway and discretion.

The Potential Future of Annual Passes

Last fall, however, Disney World introduced a list of annual passes with new names, higher prices, different restrictions, and other details. Despite the introduction of these new annual passes, only for the lowest tier pass – known as the Pixie Dust Pass – was made available for purchase. This pass is restricted to Florida residents and can only be used during the week. The more expensive higher tier passes – the Pirate Pass, Sorcerer Pass, and Incredi-Pass – are still not available as of this writing, though this could change after March of 2022.

What Disney VIP Tours Can Do Until Then

As you can see, Disney World isn’t getting rid of the annual passes, but we’re not exactly sure when they’ll be available at the same level as they were before. Whether or not you can purchase the Pixie Dust Pass, signing up for a Disney VIP experience can help you get a lot more out of your trip. Here are some of the things that World Class VIP Disney VIP tour guides will be able to help you out with:

Search Vacation Packages

If you’ve never checked out the Disney vacation packages, or it’s been a while, do yourself a favor and look at what they offer. These vacation packages are set up with a certain number of days for admittance to the park along with a variety of Disney hotel resorts. A Disney VIP tour guide can help you decide which package will save you the most money and go over exclusive benefits.

Find Budget Disney Resorts

Some vacationers want to stay in a lavish Disney resort filled with multiple amenities while others prefer something on the more humble side because they’re not planning on being in their hotel room very often. The good news is that there are awesome resorts for nearly every budget. Tour guides will ask you what you’re looking for and find you the best hotel to fit your needs.

Plan Your Orlando Itinerary

Not only do World Class Disney World tour guides know the theme parks itself along with other parks in the area, they’re also very aware of Orlando hotspots. If you need assistance with restaurants, water sports opportunities, nightclubs, bars, or anything else, your tour guide can point the way. If he or she doesn’t have direct knowledge, they’ll definitely know who to ask.

Disney World Expertise

World Class VIP pride ourselves on knowing all the ins and outs of Disney World This means they know how to get around the map very quickly and can get you from one place to another using the fastest routes and maybe even a shortcut or two. This will help you spend less time walking around aimlessly and more time enjoying everything that the park has to offer.

Find Cheaper Food Prices

There are so many types of food at Disney World that it’s very easy to become overwhelmed and even easier to spend a lot of money. If there are certain types of foods, snacks, or drinks that you’re looking for, your tour guide can point you in the right direction. He or she will also be able to help you find the spots where certain foods will be less expensive.

Character Meet-and-Greets

While children are always delighted by the many rides and attractions at Disney World the character meet-and-greets have proven to be some of the most memorable opportunities. Since the pandemic started, there have been restrictions to the meet-and-greets, but many of those rules are loosening up. Your tour guide will know which characters are available, their locations, and the best times to see them.

Make Changes on the Fly

When you visit Disney World it’s always best to have a basic plan in mind so that you can optimize your visit. However, it’s very common for visitors to arrive at the park and discover new things they’d like to do that they hadn’t even thought of. World Class VIP tour guides are well aware of this phenomenon and can quickly adapt the day’s itinerary so that your trip is even more magical.
