Disney World Rumors #1: New Roller Coasters!

Disney is in the process of building some of its fastest and most immersive roller coasters yet! We’re going to highlight the latest on two of the most anticipated ones for this year: the TRON Lightcycle Run Roller Coaster, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

TRON Lightcycle Run Roller Coaster

As construction on the Magic Kingdom theme park was delayed until 2021, excitement and anticipation has been building for one of its new rides – the Tron Lightcycle Run Roller Coaster. This is a carbon-copy of the one in Shanghai, and features a massive track that allows for your lightcycle to go soaring through the air, with sharp turns and nail-biting dives!

Located in Tomorrowland behind Space Mountain, this coaster and its impressive housing sprawls out on both sides of the Disney World Railroad track. This has temporarily halted the railroad, but everything will open again once the roller coaster is done – likely in the fall of 2022.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Hold on to your blasters! This ride is the first of its kind to feature an indoor-launch roller coaster and one of the longest enclosed tracks in the world! Join Groot, Rocket, and the gang as they travel the stars in search of a way to save the galaxy!

This ride will also be one of the most immersive roller coasters of all time, featuring never-before-seen technology that uses screens and seats that swivel at key times. You’ll feel like you’re actually traveling through space on this one. We can’t wait until it debuts later this summer!

Disney World Rumors #2: New Places To Stay!

While Disney actually has a few new resorts opening up, the one that we’re anticipating the most is the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Resort. This is not your average hotel. This is an immersive experience in which you will stay aboard the Halcyon, a spaceship that mimics a luxury cruiseliner.

You will be given the choice to either be on the side of the First Order or the Resistance, and handed a mission to carry out in the next two days of your stay. Throughout your time, you will interact with characters, see Rey and Kylo Ren, and get to try out new space food at the cantina!

What’s more, is that the price of the stay includes admission into Hollywood studios, and you will spend a day on an excursion to the planet of Batuu. Here, you will meet the locals, interact with droids, and check out attractions like Rise of the Resistance, or Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run.

Disney World Rumors #3: New Shows!

Disney’s been hard at work overhauling classics such as Finding Nemo, the musical, and the fireworks shows at the end of the day. We’ve got the latest on the overhauls and the brand new shows that are opening up!

Finding Nemo The Musical

One of the best, most popular shows at Disney is getting an upgrade to make it even better! The storyline will be mostly the same, with a few new twists thrown in along the way. And the music is getting re-done by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez – the same team that worked on the music from Frozen! This is sure to be a hit with both the young and the young at heart.

Drawn To Life

This show is the next chapter in the partnership between Cirque du Soleil and Disney. The story features a young girl whose father has passed away. Going through his things, she finds his sketchbooks – filled with drawings that bring the characters to life!

When she works with the pencil, she creates beautiful, fanciful works of art, which dance, tumble, and twirl before her eyes. All in all, it is a fantastic show that serves as a love letter to the art of animation.

Harmonious

Come check out Epcot’s World Showcase Lagoon and its newest firework spectacle! This show replaces the previous IllumiNations show that lit up the sky with color. This is the reimagined next chapter in light shows; and features projection-mapping, fireworks, laser-lights, and of course, incredible music.

Disney World Rumor #4: The Great Epcot Reimagining

Now that the renovations at Hollywood Studios are coming to a close, Disney is focusing on transforming Epcot next. The entire front entrance of the park is almost finished now, with landscapers and construction workers putting the final touches on it.

Furthermore, the theme park will now be divided up into four new neighborhoods: World Discovery, World Celebration, World Nature, and of course, the World Showcase.

World Discovery

The World Discovery neighborhood is currently in the eastern part of the park. It’s geared toward exploration and science, and houses the Test Track, Mission Space, and the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride.

Another area getting revamped is the Wonders of Life pavilion. Construction is underway right now to create a new, futuristic city inside – focusing on the joy of play. It will be called the Play Pavilion, and not much information is being released about the specific features that the children will be able to interact and play with. However, according to the concept art, they will be immersed in a fun, colorful, and interactive futuristic city.

World Nature

The World Nature neighborhood is in the current area known as Future World West. This features themes involving conservation and nature; and includes attractions such as the Imagination Pavilion, The Seas, and Living With the Land.

World Nature is also where the new Journey of Water exhibit will be held. This is a new, Moana-inspired park, featuring gorgeous tropical flowers, lush greenery, and plenty of colorful fountains full of “living water”. Rumor has it that the ground work is just about done, and that all that remains is the building up. We don’t know about you, but we’re super excited about it.

World Celebration

The World Celebration area is in the very center of the park; encompassing a strip from the new park entrance to the World Showcase. This area is almost finished with its renovations, as the previous futuristic sea of concrete has gradually been transformed into a green, garden-like park to welcome visitors and to showcase mankind’s achievements.

Further transforming the area is the new plexiglass pylon fountain, pointing the way toward Spaceship Earth, which was recently upgraded with new lights and projection-mapping. We highly recommend checking it out at night when it sparkles and changes colors during its “Beacons of Magic” show.

World Showcase

This is an area of the park that isn’t so much getting a complete transformation as it is expanding. In the French Pavilion, the addition of the new indoor ride Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure has added an extra feature for the kids, while La Creperie de Paris is sure to delight the adults with its tasty, gourmet crepes.

Several of the pavilions also got new videos showcasing the best of each country’s landscapes and culture. The one that’s currently in the works is a video in the China Pavilion called Wondrous China. This one is a new, Circle-vision 360 film with breathtaking new scenes and music included.
