Looking for a few indoor attractions at Disney World? Here are some of our favorite indoor attractions.

Outdoor attractions at Disney World get a lot of attention because they’re out in the open, and you can actually see some of them running as you walk around (often with screaming fans). But some of the best attractions at Disney World take place indoors.

These attractions offer an extra benefit because they can give you a thrilling experience while protecting you from the hot weather outside. To give you an idea of which rides you should visit when temperatures get a little high, we’ve put together a quick list of some of our favorite indoor attractions at Disney World.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is an enclosed roller coaster that’s one of the best rides offered in all of Disney World. This is a unique adventure created for Guardians fans, Marvel fans, and Disney fans. This exhilarating ride also features classic pop music that’s weaved into the experience. Each time you ride, you’ll get one of six different songs. It’s easily one of the best ways to avoid the Florida sun while at the park.

Avatar: Flight of Passage

Given the fact that James Cameron is apparently going to be making 15 more Avatar movies (that’s a joke, but maybe), we’re sure there will be other Avatar rides and attractions in the future. For now, we’ll keep enjoying Avatar: Flight of Passage, which is easily one of the best indoor attractions at Disney World. This ride uses 3D glasses and motion to make you feel as if you’re soaring above the Pandora landscape on your very own banshee. It’s an amazing time that shouldn’t be missed.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Even before Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance had officially opened, it was very clear that this ride was going to set a new standard for what Disney World could achieve. It is easily one of the most ambitious and technologically advanced attractions at any Disney park, placing guests in an immersive adventure that everyone should experience.

It’s also one of the longest attractions that Disney has ever created, which means you’ll definitely get your money’s worth while escaping from the heat.

Space Mountain

In a lot of ways, Space Mountain is the OG indoor roller coaster. Even if you’ve been a dozen times, you need to revisit it every once in a while because it’s a true classic. Part of this coaster throws you into a completely dark area where you can’t tell if you’re about to move left, right, up, or down. Hopping onboard will keep you out of the heat for a while, but the real thrill is the twists and turns of the ride itself.

Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror

The Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror doesn’t seem to get nearly as much love as it deserves. After you board this ride, you’ll find yourself swept into the Twilight Zone and a haunted elevator.

Your elevator will take you to the top of the tower, where you’ll be dropped almost to the bottom, only to go back up and then drop again, over and over. One of the best features of this ride is that the drops are done at random intervals, so it’s a different experience each time you go on it.

Pirates of the Caribbean

We simply couldn’t make a list of indoor Disney World attractions to help you escape the heat without mentioning Pirates of the Caribbean. The fact that the movie series has made more than three billion dollars shows that this ride has no plans of slowing down anytime soon. It’s just as awesome today as it was when it first opened. By the time the adventure is over, you might just want to become a pirate.

Spaceship Earth

In case you haven’t heard, the EPCOT part of Disney World is receiving a massive overhaul. Despite that, Spaceship Earth will remain the park’s centerpiece. Not only will this attraction help you cool down, but it also lets you relax as you’re presented with the history of human communication dating from the Stone Age to the emergence of computer technology.

Plans to make changes to the attraction for Disney World’s 50th anniversary have been scrapped for now, but we may see a transformation in years to come.

Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run

There’s no way we could finish up this list without talking about Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Disney has taken one of the most famous spaceships in all of cinematic history and used it to create one of the best indoor rides at the park.

After decades of watching Star Wars on the big screen and small screen, visitors now get to jump inside the “fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy” and assist Han Solo and Chewbacca in a dastardly, but somewhat noble, plot.
