What movie rides can you find at Universal Studios?

Universal Studios has been a major Orlando attraction ever since it opened in 1990. Since then, the theme park has gone through multiple changes that have often been focused on emerging technologies to give visitors an amazing experience that they can’t get anywhere else. Since this is Universal, it should come as no surprise that movies are their primary focus. Today, we’re going to take a look at some of our favorite movie rides at Universal Studios that you simply can’t miss on your next visit.

Jurassic Park River Adventure

The adventure that began 65 million years ago still reigns supreme at Universal Studios. Based on the amazing film series that was started by Steven Spielberg, the Jurassic Park River Adventure ride will take you back through time to the prehistoric era as you board a river raft and set off to the world of Jurassic Park and Jurassic World. Just as a giant t-rex threatens your very existence, you’ll plunge in an 85-foot drop to safety. Hold on tight and smile for the camera!

Jurassic World VelociCoaster

Jurassic World may have plenty of celebrities, but everyone knows that the real stars are the dinosaurs. During the Jurassic World VelociCoaster ride, you’ll speed through the jungle and high above the terrain as you narrowly escape velociraptors and other dangers. This isn’t for the faint of heart, but you can take some comfort that the velociraptors aren’t real – or are they?

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Diagon Alley

The global-wide phenomenon of J.K. Rowling’s magical world has been replicated to near perfection at Universal Studios. One step in Diagon Alley and you’ll swear that you’ve been whisked away to the realm of dementors and horcruxes. Have a drink at the Leaky Cauldron, pick up a wand at Ollivanders, and then finish your adventure by hopping on board the Gringott’s thrill ride.

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

This indoor steel roller coaster is situated beneath a gigantic fire-breathing dragon. Once inside Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, you’ll travel deep underground on a multi-dimensional trek to the vaults of Gringott’s Bank. You’ll fight alongside Harry, Ron, and Hermione to face off against He Who Shall Not Be Named and several other familiar faces from the amazing Harry Potter book series.

The Simpson’s Ride

Back when The Simpsons Ride opened in 2008, the builders probably didn’t realize that the show would continue to run for more than 15 years later (and still counting). This ride is a motion simulator ride (like others listed here). Don’t let that fool you, though. As you’re taken through the streets of Springfield and all the way to outer space, you’ll truly feel the ride as if you’re actually moving through the cartoon world of Homer, Bart, and all the rest.

Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem

This ride is clearly designed with kids in mind, but adults will be delighted by it, too. Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem is a computer-animated simulator ride that whisks you into the world of Gru, his daughters, and the Minions. You join the ride as a Minion yourself as you follow these adorable yellow and blue creatures in their latest scheme. We all know their plan is going to fail, but it’s the journey that counts… right?

Revenge of the Mummy

No matter how many times you visit Universal Studios, the Revenge of the Mummy ride never gets old. This indoor roller coaster takes place in total darkness so you can’t tell where exactly the screams are coming from (hint: it might be you). If anyone in your group has never been on the ride before, don’t tell them anything about it because there’s nothing quite like that heart-pounding feeling when the ride kicks into gear.

Men in Black: Alien Attack

This is another ride that takes place in the dark. Based on both the comic book series and movies, Men in Black: Alien Attack has you zapping aliens and hunting them down in the streets of New York in this incredible, interactive attraction. Perhaps the best part is that there’s multiple endings, which means you’ll want to go again and again.

Transformers 4D: The Ride

Leave it to something as larger than life as the Transformers to take motion simulator rides to the next level. You ride along with Optimus Prime and Bumblebee as you once again attempt to thwart the efforts of the evil Decepticons. Once you jump into the ride vehicle, you’ll glide along a track in multiple areas, with each one giving you a motion-filled thrill that you won’t soon forget.

Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man

Now that Marvel has taken everyone’s favorite webslinger to new heights, the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man ride gets even more attention than before. This is yet another motion simulator that takes place in the dark, and it continues to thrill thousands of people every day. In addition to Spider-Man, you’ll be delighted by several Marvel heroes as you try to save the Statue of Liberty from the villains’ evil clutches.

Incredible Hulk Coaster

The Incredible Hulk might not ever get his own movie again in the Marvel world, but he’s had his own roller coaster for more than 20 years. This super-fast coaster will take you on an exhilarating ride over Universal Studios’ Marvel Superhero Island. This has been a fan favorite for more than two decades and something tells us that you’ll want to “hulk out” again as soon as it’s over.

Fast & Furious: Supercharged

Nothing says action quite like the Fast & Furious movie series. The Fast & Furious: Supercharged ride allows you to step into a re-creation of the crew’s headquarters (with real props from the actual movie sets) and join some of the series’ biggest characters on a high-speed chase. The action is so real that you might swear that you’ve somehow become a star in one of the inevitable sequels.
