What are some of our favorite shows presented at Disney World?

When people talk about the wonders of Disney World, they often bring up the many rides featuring their favorite characters. Don’t get us wrong—the amazing rides at Disney World are definitely something that should be celebrated and enjoyed over and over again. That being said, there are also many shows at Disney World that your family and friends will absolutely love.

Earlier today, our staff was talking about our favorite shows and trying to determine which ones were the very best.

We definitely have some thoughts. There are no right or wrong answers, but these are some of our favorite shows at Disney World:

Festival of the Lion King

Most people who have been to the Festival of The Lion King show put it at the top of their list. This amazing show is filled with acrobats, aerial artists, stilt walkers, fire jugglers, and, of course, extremely talented singers. For those who remember the beloved Lion King musical, this is in the same vein thanks to its Broadway-caliber production value.

Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!

As another Broadway-style musical, Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! really gives Lion King a run for its money. With music by the same songwriting duo celebrated for their work on Frozen and a dazzling array of puppetry and talented performers, this is another show you simply can’t miss. For those who are familiar with the older Finding Nemo show, you’ll love this updated version just as much… and maybe, just maybe, a whole lot more.

Beauty and the Beast: Live on Stage

With a tale as old as time, you simply can’t go wrong with Beauty and the Beast: Live on Stage. This is yet another Broadway-style musical that retells the Disney animated film with huge production values and an amazing cast. Sit back and watch one of the most well-known and beloved love stories of all time come to life as Belle calms the savage Beast.

For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration

There’s no doubt that your kids have belted out Frozen‘s amazing songs more times than you can count! This musical show gives them the opportunity to sing some of their favorite tunes from the movie one more time. If you don’t know the words to sing along with them, that’s okay. The lyrics are shown throughout the presentation so that Frozen fans and newbies alike can join in on the fun!

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular

Even though the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular has been around for more than 30 years, it continues to be a must-see. Visitors are treated to a behind-the-scenes look at how some of the most famous scenes from the original Raiders of the Lost Ark were filmed. Yes, one of the scenes we’re referring to is the infamous boulder scene! During the show, guests will get an inside look at stage combat and can even join Indiana Jones’ stunt double and volunteer to be an extra in the production.

Fantasmic!

As nighttime spectaculars go, this is one for the ages. If you’re heading to Disney World, this is a show that you should never miss. The Fantasmic! show features Mickey Mouse in an epic battle of good versus evil and includes many Disney favorites, including Aladdin, Elsa, and Moana. In the midst of fireworks, projections, and other dazzling features, Mickey and the crew will take on a gang of Disney villains, including Maleficent in dragon form.

Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire

In this Disney extravaganza, Mickey recruits classic and contemporary characters to join in the celebration. From Donald Duck and Goofy to Rapunzel and Tiana, there are incredible characters everywhere. Mickey even manages to get Olaf, Anna, and Elsa from Frozen to be part of the festivities. Between the amazing music, lively dancing, and dazzling effects, guests will adore this stage show that takes place in front of Cinderella’s Castle.

Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor

As soon as the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor show begins, you’ll know that you’re in for a very unique experience. The whole thing is set up as an open mic night for the wonderful but scary and funny Monstropolis.

You’ll absolutely adore it when the monsters come down from the stage to do a little crowd work. If you have a one-liner that you think everyone would love, you can text jokes to a special number, and you might get to hear it in the act.

Feathered Friends in Flight!

Birds are fascinating creatures. Each person seems to have their own personality. In Disney World’s Feathered Friends in Flight!, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at the free-flying birds found in Animal Kingdom.

The show is hosted by animal behavior specialists who care for and train these majestic creatures. By the time you leave, you’ll have a newfound respect for the trainers and the birds themselves.

Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical

The Hoop-Dee-Doo musical takes place outside of the theme park at Pioneer Hall. The Wild West-themed show is filled with singing, dancing, and comedy. The cast works with the audience so that they get to be a part of the show at various points during the presentation.

You’ll also get to feast on a country-style dinner consisting of barbecue ribs, fried chicken, baked beans, and strawberry shortcake. Adults can enjoy unlimited alcoholic drinks (except for specialty drinks).

Festival of Fantasy Parade

Whether you’re a lover of parades or can “take them or leave them,” the Festival of Fantasy Parade is definitely one you should check out. The floats are one-of-a-kind and state-of-the-art. They feature several popular Disney characters from The Little MermaidPeter PanTangled, and other movies. This parade winds itself around the park, which means you’ll have plenty of opportunity to enjoy it.

Drawn to Life

This is another show that occurs outside the theme park. Together with Cirque du Soleil, the Disney Imagineers have created a show where sketches come to life. As you might expect from a Disney World show, there’s tons of engaging music along. There is also plenty of action in the form of dazzling acrobatics that must be seen to be believed.
