What can you look forward to from SeaWorld this summer?
SeaWorld Orlando has transformed itself a lot over the past two decades. In addition to hundreds of aquatic animals, you can now find roller coasters, exciting events, food festivals, and a whole lot more!
If you’re going to visit Orlando during the summer, SeaWorld has many exciting things planned that your family will absolutely love. Let’s take a look at what they have planned for this summer and beyond.
SeaWorld Orlando Attractions Now Through Summer
The next few months at SeaWorld are going to be very exciting. From now through the end of summer, you and your family can get excited about these incredible attractions and events:
Pipeline: The Surf Coaster
What many will consider the most exciting SeaWorld summer attraction may already be open by the time you read this. Pipeline: The Surf Coaster is the world’s first roller coaster that simulates what it’s like to ride atop the ocean’s waves. It places you 110 feet up in a freestanding seat where you’re strapped in and will feel every bank and curve as you reach speeds up to 60 mph. We haven’t been on it yet, but we can’t wait!
Seven Seas Food Festival
The Seven Seas Food Festival takes place at the end of the week and on the weekend! It’s in full swing right now and ends on May 7th. You’ll discover more than 50 cuisine selections, 75 wine and cocktail choices, and 75 craft brews. There’s also tons of live music where you get to enjoy rock, country, Latin, and more.
Cinco de Mayo
The SeaWorld Cinco de Mayo celebration takes place for an entire week, from April 27th through May 7th. During this amazing event, you’ll discover authentic music, delicious Mexican cuisine, and festive entertainment. When the festivities are in full swing, you’ll be treated to a DJ dance party, live music, stilt walkers, classic Mexican tastes, and more.
Viva La Música
This festive, family-friendly Latin celebration takes place during the weekends from May 13th through May 21st. With salsa, bachata, reggaetón, and other awesome forms of music at the Nautilus Theater, guests will be entertained for hours.
But, of course, the day wouldn’t be complete without plenty of food. The festivities will feature authentic cuisine such as mojo-roasted pork and delicious empanadas. And let’s not forget the amazing mojitos!
Summer Spectacular
The Summer Spectacular takes place every night throughout the season. When the sun dips below the horizon, SeaWorld comes to life with amazing dance music, dazzling lights, and a fireworks display. The big attraction is the Electric Ocean, which will be held on select nights from Memorial Day weekend through approximately Labor Day weekend. During that time, you’ll be treated to special shows, music, and an enormous fireworks and light show.
Craft Beer Festival
Calling all craft beer aficionados! Between July 28th and September 4th, you can enjoy more than 100 craft beers from breweries across the great state of Florida, in addition to select favorites from around the United States. The Craft Beer Festival will also be filled to the brim—pardon the pun—with many types of wines, seltzers, and cocktails, plus more than a dozen food items.
SeaWorld Orlando Attractions After Summer Is Over
Right after summer ends, SeaWorld will switch gears for the scary season. There are two huge Halloween events, one for adults and one for kids:
Howl-O-Scream
Howl-O-Scream is a separately ticketed event that takes place on select nights between September 8th and October 31st. This event features haunted houses, scare zones, live entertainment, dance parties, themed bars, coasters, and more. Due to its frightening nature, this particular event is only recommended for those who are at least 13 years of age. Parents looking for something to do during Halloween for their children should attend the Spooktacular instead.
SeaWorld Spooktacular
The SeaWorld Spooktacular takes place on select dates from September 16th through October 31st. During this time, there will be plenty of opportunity to meet several Halloween and Sesame Street characters while the kids go trick-or-treating around the park. Children can also take part in dance parties, costume contests, face painting, and other fun activities.
