There’s nothing like a Disney World Christmas Party to celebrate the holidays!

The Disney World Christmas Party 2021 is just getting started! Disney’s Very Merriest After Hours is ramping itself up with lots of entertainment this year, including the first full Christmas time parade since the start of the pandemic!

Usually, Disney hosts Mickey’s Very Merriest Christmas Party. But last year, the pandemic caused them to transition to an after-hours event. This year, they still chose to go with Disney’s Very Merriest After Hours, but are expanding it into a party that’s closer to the original MVMCP. This event features special fireworks shows at Cinderella’s Castle, a stage show, and a special snowfall on Main Street!

We’re definitely excited to see seasonal favorites return for the Christmas party; and we’ll be happy to take you on a virtual sneak peek at what’s inside!

The Details

For the Disney World Christmas Party 2021, we’ll take care of all the little details so that you are free to enjoy the party. Doors open at 7:00pm, with the official kickoff happening at 9. It is a ticketed event, and special wristbands are available at the gate to help cast members distinguish between the daytime crowds and the nighttime crowds.

If you’re choosing to stay in the park during the day and at night, the Disney VIP tour guides will collect your wristband for you at one of three locations:

  • Liberty Square
  • Tomorrowland near Monsters Inc.
  • Adventureland near Tortuga Tavern

When you enter the park, you will see carts with complimentary snacks, handing out free popcorn, water bottles, and ice cream bars!

Protip: Sometimes the lines at these carts can be a bit long, so we recommend passing the first few on your way in and getting your holiday treats at a cart further in the park.

As if free ice cream bars weren’t enough, Disney even arranged for free hot chocolate and snickerdoodle cookies to be handed out as well! They’re available at select shops, so keep an eye out for the giant peppermint stick lanterns in front to let you know that there are cookies inside! Or, if you don’t feel like searching for them scavenger hunt-style, we’ve got the list of distribution points right here:

Frontierland: Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe

Liberty Square: Columbia Harbor House

Fantasyland: Pinocchio Village Haus

Tomorrowland: Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe

If you have food allergies, Disney’s got you covered. Their allergy-friendly options include Lucy’s cinnamon-thin cookies for those who need to go gluten-free, and Werther’s sugar-free chewy caramels for those with sugar issues.

The Entertainment

Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor

Once you’ve got your fill of holiday treats, you can head on over to Monsters Inc. Hang out with Mike Wazowski and friends while they run through their stand-up routine, including a few jokes from the crowd as well!

Club Tinsel Dance Party (9:00pm to 1:00am)

While you’re in Tomorrowland, stop by the Rockettower Plaza Stage for the coolest dance party in the park! Say hello to Stitch dressed like Santa Claus, and let the kids get all their extra energy out on the dance floor. It’s a win-win!

Mickey and Minnie’s Very Merry Memories (9:25pm, 10:35pm, 11:45pm, 12:50am)

Another show worth watching is Mickey and Minnie’s Very Merry Memories. This is the first stage show brought back to the Christmastime lineup since the pandemic began.

Come join Mickey, Minnie, and friends as they remember Christmases past, and sing and dance their way around the stage! There is something for everyone in this show. The youngsters will love the bright colors and dance scenes, and their parents and grandparents will enjoy the classic Christmas music.

Reindeer Wranglers (9:25pm, 10:30pm, 11:40pm, 12:35am)

The Reindeer Wranglers are a country trio that performs in Frontierland. A fan favorite for years, these three wranglers play Christmas music with a Southern twist, entertaining audiences from all over the world. If you’re looking for a lively Christmas concert, this is one you won’t want to miss.

Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show (11:15pm)

This is hands-down one of our favorite shows in the Christmas lineup. First, your Disney VIP tour guide will find the best place for your family to enjoy the spectacle. Then, in the show, Disney will work its magic with projection mapping, colorful spotlights, and classic music.

You will also see Minnie pop in from time to time and take on the role of emcee. You’ll be in amazement as the Cinderella castle sparkles, changes colors, and even seems to dance to the rhythm of the music! Listen to Christmas hits such as “Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time”, and enjoy the classic time spent with family. It will be well worth it.

Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade (9:45pm, and 12:05am)

Everyone is delighted that the parade is back. Previously during COVID-19, Disney scaled everything down and stuck to cavalcades. Now, the full parade is making a comeback, with large-scale, meticulously-decorated floats, colorful costumes, and cheery Christmas music playing over the loudspeakers. The parade is kicked off with Mickey and Minnie waving to the crowd, and there’s even a surprise visit from Santa Claus at the end!

Character Sightings

Of course, no Disney visit is complete without interacting with a few characters. Everything is, of course, socially distanced. But you can still talk to them and take your picture with them. Here is the list of our favorite characters and where to find them!

Princess Fairytale Hall: Tiana, Rapunzel, Elena, and Cinderella

Pirates of the Caribbean stage: Captain Hook and Mr. Smee

Tomorrowland: Stitch dressed up like Santa!

Mad Hatter Tea Party in Fantasyland: Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.

Crystal Palace Patio: Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, and Piglet

Town Square Theater: Mickey Mouse

Old Christmas Shoppe gazebo: Santa himself!
