Marvel fans will be happy and excited to know that Disney World has finally opened its newest ride, the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Aside from being EPCOT’s first roller coaster, Cosmic Rewind is also Disney’s first Marvel-themed attraction and first reverse launch coaster. It features a train that rotates 360 degrees for an immersive experience.
In this thrilling family ride, you get to join your favorite Marvel characters like Groot, Gamora, Star-Lord, and Rocket for an exciting space battle. There are huge screens to project a cinematic story while your vehicle faces the action to give the feeling as though you are in the fictional world. Expect lots of twists and turns!
As one of the most anticipated Marvel attractions at Disney World, Cosmic Rewind requires a virtual queue. If you want to try the ride, you need to book your slot in the My Disney Experience app, if you have a reservation for Epcot. There will be no standby queues, so make sure you secure your slots early on.
Treasures of Xandar Shop
After enjoying the Cosmic Rewind, make sure you head over to the Treasures of Xandar gift shop for some souvenirs. Guardians of the Galaxy fans are sure to enjoy browsing through the shop with its unique and curated collections. It features Groot Through the Years and Through the Eyes of the Quill Collection.
Wonders of Xandar Pavilion
The Wonders of Xandar Pavilion is a themed land in EPCOT, which replaced the Energy Pavilion. It features a Guardians of the Galaxy theme, so it currently houses the Cosmic Rewind roller coaster and Treasures of Xandar gift shop.
The entryway to the pavilion features the Galaxarium. This is a planetarium that transports you to Xandar through a supercomputer called the Worldmind. Here, you get to see and learn more about the planet and its culture and people. It will be a great start to your journey towards the world in the Guardian of the Galaxy.
Moving further into the pavilion, you will find yourself in The Xandar Gallery. It has a range of special videos and displays featuring different places and people in Xandar, including their heroes. As you go through the presentations, you may see how similar Earth and Xandar are.
Super Hero Headquarters
Few are familiar with this, but another Marvel-themed location you can visit in Disney World is the Super Hero Headquarters store. Here, you will find all sorts of gear and merchandise from your favorite MCU superhero characters and movies.
The shop offers a huge selection ranging from clothes to action figures to pins and Vinylmations. You will have a blast wading through the items. You can even create a custom gauntlet in superhero designs like Iron Man, Spiderman, and Captain America.
Other Marvel Merchandise
Aside from Super Hero Headquarters, there are also other stores around Disney World that sell Marvel merchandise. For example, you can check out The Dress Shop or LEGO Store at Disney Springs. There’s also the Uptown Jewelers at Magic Kingdom, or Legends of Hollywood at the Hollywood Studios.
