A few tips to stay cool while visiting Disney World!

This is an absolutely fantastic time to visit Disney World. Florida’s weather makes most of the day perfect, but there is a time in the late afternoon when it gets… well, let’s say, a little warm outside.

We hate the thought of your Disney World experience being less than absolutely outstanding because of the heat, so we’re going to help you out a bit. Here are some quick tips that will help you beat the heat at Disney World this year:

Wear Breathable Fabrics

You’re going to be at Disney World for a while, so you want to be as comfortable as possible. Cotton shirts are okay, but we suggest that you ditch them for moisture-wicking clothing that offers some sun protection. No matter what kind of clothing you decide to wear to the park, light colors are always the best because they’ll keep you a bit cooler.

Arrive to the Park Early

It’s always best to arrive at the park as early as possible so you can beat the crowds and the heat. If you stay at a Disney Resort Hotel, then you’re allowed to enter the park one hour earlier than the official opening time. This is a great way to get in a little more park time while getting an extra hour away from the heat.

Take an Afternoon Break

We know you want to squeeze in every bit of fun you can while you’re at Disney World, but there’s no shame in taking a break. Going into a restaurant or other indoor area for an afternoon break will help you get out of the heat for a while. This is also a good way to recharge, so you’ll have enough energy to get through the rest of the day.

Focus on Indoor Attractions

Disney World is filled with air-conditioned indoor rides and attractions. Just to name a few, there’s Pirates of the Caribbean, It’s a Small World, Na’vi River Journey, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Tower of Terror, and many others. Whenever you start feeling the heat, head to one of these incredible experiences. Any of them will give you a break from the sun, and you’ll have an awesome time!

Keep Yourself Hydrated

One of the most obvious ways that you can beat the heat anywhere in Florida is to keep yourself hydrated. There are many places throughout Disney World where you can buy water and other beverages to quench your thirst. We know that it’s exciting to be at Disney World, and you want to do as much as possible, but you definitely need to stay hydrated so that you and your party are safe.

Visit the Water Parks and Rides

Yes, it’s true—Disney World has water parks! Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon are always popular, especially when it’s hot outside. These water parks require a separate ticket, but Disney World also has water rides to help you beat the heat. The best one to get some water action is Kelly River Rapids, but you might also get a little wet on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.

Try to Stay in the Shade

There are plenty of places where you can walk in the shade throughout Disney World. Depending on the time of day, you can stay close to certain buildings and take advantage of their shade. You can also head into the Emporium stores instead of scrolling down Main Street. This will give you some wonderful shopping opportunities while staying free of the heat.

Treat Yourself to Ice Cream

Out of all the ways to beat the heat at Disney World, this is by far our favorite. Ice cream is the perfect treat for kids and adults alike. While you’re at the park, you’ll discover all types of ice cream for you to enjoy, such as a Haagen-Dazs Dazzler Sundae, Mickey Mouse Sundae, or one of the many favorites found at Hollywood Scoops. You can also treat yourself to the very popular Dole Whip, which is a frozen mix of pineapple, vanilla, or swirled flavors.

Cooling Towels and/or Fans

Cooling towels have become a popular method for Florida residents to stay cool. You might also want to pick up a handheld fan or perhaps even a mini-mister. These items are very effective in helping you beat the heat at Disney World. Keep in mind that you can purchase cooling towels with Mickey ears on them at the park, but they’ll cost you a lot more than if you purchase non-branded ones before you arrive.

How World Class VIP Helps You Beat the Heat

World Class VIP offers amazing private tours of Disney World. Thanks to our talented Disney VIP tour guides, you and your family will experience the park in a way that you’ll remember for a lifetime. We also want you to be as comfortable as possible.

Here are a few of the ways that we can help you beat the heat at Disney World:

Knows the Indoor Attractions

Every single one of our private Disney VIP tour guides knows all the ins and outs of the park. If you need to get out of the heat for a while, your guide can take you to one of the many indoor attractions. They may even suggest that you save a few of the indoor rides or attractions for later in the day, when you’ll need a welcome breather from the sun.

Gets You Around the Park Quickly

One of the reasons why a park visitor gets really hot is because they’re walking around outside to get from one attraction to the next. When you don’t know where you’re going, you’re more likely to spend time looking at the map or wandering around while the sun is beating down on you. Since a private VIP tour guide knows how to navigate the park, you’ll get to each destination much more quickly, saving you time in the heat.

We’ll Book a Close Disney Hotel

If you need assistance booking a Disney Resort Hotel or any other hotel in the area, your guide can help you out. This is a great way to beat the heat at Disney World because they can tell you which hotels will allow you to get into the park early. Plus, they can get you a hotel that’s close enough for you to take a break in the afternoon if you’d like.

Helps You Find Snacks & Drinks

It’s always the best strategy to be with a private Disney World VIP tour guide who knows exactly where to find the best foods and beverages. When you’re trying to beat the heat, you need to know where the coldest drinks are located, not to mention ice cream and other frozen treats. Just tell your guide what you’d like to eat or drink, and they’ll take you there lickety-split.
