Look back fondly at some classic Disney World attractions with World Class VIP!

Since the park opened in 1965, dozens of popular attractions at Disney World have amazed and delighted people of all ages. This has helped it become not only the most popular theme park in Florida, but also one of the most famous hot-spots in the world.

Recently added Disney World attractions, such as Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, get a lot of attention these days. But, without the classic attractions at Disney World that have been drawing in crowds for decades, the newest ones might not even exist.

Let’s take a look at some of our personal favorite classic Disney World attractions.

Pirates of the Caribbean

Thanks to a string of blockbuster movies, Pirates of the Caribbean has become one of the most well-recognized attractions in the park. Children and adults of all ages love the pirate theme and see this as a true adventure. The original ride located at Disneyland in California was the last ride overseen by Walt Disney himself, which means it will always have a special place in our hearts.

Space Mountain

There’s something about the word “space” that gets children excited. Okay – adults, too! This is the attraction that is often credited as the beginning of thrill rides at Disney World. It has been the centerpiece of Tomorrowland for many years and will probably never be replaced. Most visitors have been on the ride multiple times and always want more.

The Haunted Mansion

The movie that was based on this ride may not have been as popular as Pirates of the Caribbean, but it did manage to get Eddie Murphy in the role. This spooky ride takes you aboard the Doom Buggy as you make your way through a mansion filled with frightful sights and terrifying sounds. Whether you want to consider this ride to be a fan favorite or a cult classic, you simply cannot deny its appeal.

It’s a Small World

The It’s a Small World attraction was originally developed for the 1964 World’s Fair. It was imported into Disneyland after the World’s Fair had concluded and then a duplicate was created for the opening of Disney World. It’s a Small World has surpassed its identity as a fun ride to become part of the lexicon. And we bet you’ll never forget the addictive theme song!

Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride

There are so many reasons why Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride had been popular with adults and children for so many years. To say the ride is erratic is an understatement, and many people believe that a drunk amphibian is the one in charge. Alas, this ride was replaced by The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh in 1998, which means that Orlando visitors will simply need to reminisce.

The Jungle Cruise

Yet another ride that has inspired a feature film, which is set to get a release date as soon as the coronavirus fear has died down a bit. This humorous boat ride is full of famous rivers, perilous obstacles, and corny jokes that kids will love and adults will roll their eyes at. No wonder The Rock signed up to bring it to the big screen!

Dumbo the Flying Elephant

Nothing says “classic attractions at Disney World” quite like the Dumbo ride. What this ride lacks in thrill, it more than makes up for in nostalgia and fun. Now located in Fantasyland, this attraction allows you to take to the sky on Dumbo’s back and has become the quintessential Disney World ride for the ages.
