Learn more about Disney Face Masks made to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

At long last, Disney World will officially reopen to the public in mid-July, with Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom opening on the 15th while Epcot and will begin welcoming guests on the 17th. This means that everyone who has been stoked about signing up for a Disney VIP tour for the last few months will have the chance to do so before long.

As you’re probably aware by now, attendees will be required to wear face masks throughout the park, except in designated areas such as dining spots. To make this an enjoyable experience for both adults and children, Disney face masks will be made available.

Caring About Guests’ Health and Safety

Since the very beginning of the pandemic, Disney World has shown a high regard for the health and safety of their guests. Without any provocation from the state or federal governments, they made the decision to shut down all of their theme parks around the world in order to help stop the spread of COVID-19. This wasn’t too surprising to anyone, because Disney has always acted very quickly whenever there have been security or health concerns in the past.

How Disney Face Masks Protect Others

Face masks have proven to be instrumental in helping to “flatten the curve” and keep people safe whenever they need to leave their homes. By blocking the droplets that could potentially carry the virus so that when you cough, sneeze, or talk, there’s a much lower chance of infecting someone else. This has been especially useful because many people are asymptomatic, meaning that they can carry the virus without knowing they have it because they have little to no symptoms.

Several Types of Disney Face Masks

Given the massive array of Disney characters, it’s probably no surprise to learn that there will be several different types of masks available. These reusable, cloth masks come in packs of four and feature characters from Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel. These characters include Mickey, Mickey, Winnie the Pooh, Baby Yoda, R2D2, The Incredible Hulk, and several designs.

Disney Face Masks and Profits to be Donated

Disney is using this unique opportunity to help communities as much as possible. The first thing they’ll be doing is donating one million masks, distributed by MedShare, to children and families who live in underserved communities across the country. They’ll also be donating all face mask profits to the same organization, up to $1 million dollars, through the end of September. This will help fill the gaps that some areas have been feeling in recent months.

Social Distancing + Disney Face Masks

At least for the time being, social distancing will be a fact of life for both work and play. While face masks are quite effective in preventing the spread of COVID-19, it’s definitely better to keep your distance from other people just to be safe. Disney World will be doing their part by using markings on the ground that inform you where to stand. By now, we’re confident that everyone reading this is well-versed in how that works.

Other Measures Being Taken for Safety

In addition to the one-two punch of social distancing and face masks, Disney World will be taking a few other important precautions. Capacity will be capped at 50% when they reopen and then 75% later on. Temperature checks will be done for employees and guests. High-contact areas will be wiped down regularly, including after each time a ride concludes. With multiple precautions in place, Disney theme parks will be some of the safest places to visit.
