no-more-covid-19-restrictions

Disney World is easing on the COVID-19 restrictions for the last time. Now’s the time for a Disney World Tour!

The COVID-19 pandemic turned the world upside down.

With a severe and highly contagious virus on the loose, everything became questionable. People faced periods of quarantine lasting for months, face masks and coverings, social distancing, and more COVID-19 restrictions that brought fear and anxiety.

The situation lasted more than two years.

But now, everyone is excited as the world returns to the pre-COVID state – or close to it.

The Walt Disney World Resort, for example, is removing COVID-19 restrictions inside the parks. And people can’t be happier!

Disney World with COVID-19 Restrictions

In 2020, the COVID-19 virus forced countless public places to close doors and stop operations. Unfortunately, one of these places was the Walt Disney World in Florida.

However, after a few months, the resort reopened. But things weren’t the same. Guests were limited and required to wear face coverings. The park also imposed social distancing and posted reminders about the virus and its dangers around the resorts.

What was Walt Disney World like currently?

The pandemic was a bleak period for the world. But Walt Disney World and other Disney Parks, such as Disneyland in California, still managed to bring smiles to people’s faces. It continued to be the happiest place on Earth even with the threat of COVID-19.

But while everyone’s happiness was the goal, guests’ safety remained a priority. Thus, Disney theme parks strictly adhered to COVID-19 restrictions mandated by the government.

Some of these restrictions were:

  • Disney World resort limited the number of guests entering the parks to avoid large crowds.
  • Some parks required a negative COVID-19 test for guests who were not fully vaccinated.
  • There was a mask mandate across all parks, especially at indoor locations.
  • Some rides were open only for a few hours a day.
  • Guests need to follow social distancing, especially when lining up for rides.
  • The park recommended virtual queues for guests instead of physically falling in line for rides.
  • Parades and character meet and greet were rare occurrences.
  • Sanitizers and COVID-19 reminders abound the area.

The restrictions were numerous but strictly imposed.

However, as the months passed, some of these limitations were gradually lifted, especially for fully vaccinated guests.

Finally, the resort announced the complete removal of all COVID-19 restrictions at Walt Disney World.

What to Expect at Disney World Now

After more than two years, the COVID-19 warning signs at Walt Disney World Resort’s various entrances are removed, except for the ones at the First Aid Centers. These signs included a disclaimer notice that guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

Removing these signs signals the return of Walt Disney World Resort to its pre-COVID era. Naturally, the parks also put an end to all COVID-19 restrictions.

There won’t be hand sanitizer stations at the entrances and near rides and attractions. However, you can still find some at restaurants. Attractions will operate full time unless scheduled for maintenance, which guests are informed of beforehand.

So, if you go to Disney World today, you’ll experience its full glory, just like the old times. Sure, it won’t be the same as before, especially since it’s only the beginning, but the park will surely make magic happen.

With these changes, many expect a surge of guests in the coming months. So, be prepared for it when you decide to visit.
