Steps to follow to enhance safety at Disney World
Face masks
When at Disney World, all visitors (age two and up) should wear face coverings in all public areas. Yes, even when entering and exiting the dining locations. Of course, they can be removed while you are eating or drinking the delicious delicacies at Disney World.
Dining reservations
We highly recommend booking your spots in restaurants ahead of time. In fact, these reservations are mandatory in some dining locations. We will elaborate on this below.
My Disney Experience app
Having downloaded the latest version of the My Disney Experience app on your phone will be extremely helpful, the app will provide details about crowds and attractions.
Initiatives to increase safety at Disney world
Disney World has taken the following measures to promote health and hygiene:
Enhanced cleaning
Workers have been asked to consistently sanitize high-traffic areas such as elevators, escalators, benches, tables, chairs, and restrooms, along with dining areas and pagers.
Self-serve changes
Items such as beverages will be served by Cast Members rather than being self-served.
Reduced-contact menus
While at quick-service dining locations, menus are being displayed on signage, at table-service restaurants, scanning a QR code will provide digital menus on personal devices.
Temperature screenings
Before entering the table-service restaurants and Disney resort hotels, every visitor will undergo a temperature screening. People with temperatures 100.4 °F or above will not be allowed entry. Friends and family with the concerned person will also be denied admission.
Minimizing contact through advanced technology
Cashless payment
Credit cards, debit cards, and Disney Gift Cards should be used instead of cash to avoid physical contact. Disney Gift Cards can be purchased at Guest Relations and other merchandise locations via mobile wallets or cash.
Mobile Dine Walk-Up
You can sit down for a meal even if you do not have a dining reservation. All you need to do is add your party to the walk-up list at select table-service restaurants through the My Disney Experience app.
Mobile order service
You can order ahead at your favorite dining location and pick-up food during your allotted arrival window, which you can choose as per our schedule. You can head to the designated area to collect your food. This time-saving feature enables people to enjoy the attractions while their food gets ready.
Mobile check-in
You can now check-in at select restaurants using the new mobile check-in feature on the My Disney Experience app. When your check-in window arrives, you will receive a push notification on your mobile. You can initiate the check-in process by scanning the QR code in the restaurant’s lobby. If they prefer, guests can still check-in through the old-school podium method too!
