How to avoid long lines and large crowds at Islands of Adventure Orlando.

Islands of Adventure Orlando is the perfect vacation spot for your family. The only problem is that the park is so awesome and popular that the crowds can sometimes be overwhelming.

Luckily, you have us around to give you some tips and tricks on how to beat the crowds whenever you decide to visit.

Don’t Visit on the Weekend, If Possible

We understand why you’d want to visit on the weekend, but no matter what time of year it is, weekends are the busiest days. If possible, you should plan a trip to Islands of Adventure Orlando for the middle of the week, when crowds are typically lighter. Also keep in mind that the months of January, February, and November are typically the months with the lowest attendance.

Purchase Your Tickets in Advance Online

An easy way to beat the crowd is to purchase your tickets in advance through an online system. You can easily grab tickets in a matter of minutes on Universal’s website. The truth is that many people wait until they arrive at the park, and the line for tickets can be a bit long. If you’ve already purchased them, you can get into the park much more quickly.

Arrive 45 Minutes Prior to Opening

Arriving on time at Islands of Adventure Orlando simply doesn’t cut it for someone who’s trying to avoid the crowd. Many people do show up a bit late, so the earlier you get there, the better. If you show up at least 45 minutes prior to the opening of the gates, you’ll be among the first visitors to be let in. Then, you can make a beeline for your favorite ride and get on almost immediately.

Stay at an Universal Orlando Resort

Many people are unaware that if you stay at the Universal Orlando Resort, you’ll receive Early Park Admission to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Volcano Bay. Hotel guests can start enjoying these two areas up to one hour before the theme park opens. And if you stay at a premier hotel, you’ll receive a free Universal Express Unlimited ticket that allows you to skip the regular lines at the most popular attractions.

Schedule a Third-Party Private VIP Tour

Universal Studios offers a private Universal VIP tour that gives you many benefits, including being able to skip the line at rides and get front row seats at each event. However, their tour is quite pricey, to say the least. It’s much better if you go through a third-party company instead. A third-party’s Islands of Adventure VIP tour guides are just as knowledgeable about the park, and you’ll still receive the same amazing benefits.

Download the App and Make a Plan

The more you can be prepared before you arrive at the park, the easier it will be to circumvent the biggest crowds. As you might expect, there’s an official Universal Orlando app that will provide you with ride wait times, show times, and dining venue hours. You can use the constantly updated information to make a plan before you enter the park and for the entire day of your visit.

Skip Premium Parking Before 10:30 AM

In order to beat the biggest crowds, you should definitely show up before 10:30 a.m. If you do, then we’d suggest that you skip premium parking. It’s really not worth the cost until after 10:30. The best parking is located on the west side of the garage. To avoid the crowd slowing you down at the end of the day as you search for your parking spot, take note of the name of the section, number, level, and row.

Use the Convenient Package Pick-Up

Although this may not technically save you from the crowd of people at Universal Studios, it does make your day a lot easier if you purchase anything. Instead of carrying multiple packages around, simply tell the salesperson that you’d like a package pickup. This allows you to pick up anything you’ve purchased at the front of the park when you leave.

Use the Single Rider Line When Available

The Single Rider Line is perfect for someone who’s visiting Universal Studios by themselves, but it can also be used if you’re part of a group. When you get into the Single Rider Line, the attendant will place you on a ride where there’s a single seat available so that space isn’t wasted. Although you’ll need to split up your group and not ride together sometimes, this can help you avoid the crowd and save a lot of time.

Take Advantage of the Child Swap Program

As you try to avoid the crowds, you might find yourself in a situation where a child who’s with you isn’t big enough to go on a ride or simply doesn’t want to ride a certain attraction. When this happens, you can use the Child Swap Program. An adult will wait with the child in a designated location. Then, after the rest of the party has gone on the ride, the adult that stayed behind will be able to get on right away.
